This superbly hand painted African Batik is from Mali. It depicts a mother with a child on back and another child in front of her. Both of them are carrying what could be water vessels on their heads. This is a marvellous composition of painting and textile - a great piece of African art or in fact African art textile, it has to be seen to be fully appreciated. This scene has been beautifully put together and would look great hung as it is or stretched and framed and hung on the wall.
