African Hunter - African Art
The unusual medium that has been used to create this picture is African Bull horn (known as malu horn). The malu (bull) is eaten in Nigeria as meat and the horn is the left over product which has been utilised in creating this picture. This picture was incredibly time consuming to make as the artist had to file down and cut the horn and then place it together rather like a jigsaw in order to get this pleasing end result. This picture depicts a hunter as can be seen by the tools he carries. All this has been backed on black velvet, which emphasises the natural colours of the horn. All in all this is a unique and eye pleasing picture. This picture would look nice wherever it is place and it would also make a nice gift
