In this case the artist has created a piece which features a mother with her children. This is a reoccurring theme in African art due to the fact that mothers are seen as life bearer, nurturer, and source of generations. This theme has been simplistically but gracefully capture in this wood relief. This is a wonderful homage to mothers.
